The Silicon Valley Chapter of IFMA promotes young facility professionals within our Chapter with an exciting and fun Emerging Facility Professionals program (EFP) that provides educational and networking events. The program is open to those age 35 and under including prospective professional and associate members.

The EFP program is geared to a young professional to expand their facilities knowledge, grow a professional facilities network, develop leadership skills and by supporting their career development. Events can include speakers on a variety of facility and career topics, building tours, and socializing and creating bonds through social events in restaurants and bars, bowling, bocci ball, TopGolf, and more.

  • The benefits of the EFP program to newer members to the facility profession also include:
  • Scholarship opportunities for the FMP credential classes
  • Participate on our Chapter’s committees
  • Increase facilities social network, making large chapter meetings less intimidating
  • Exposure to industry leaders
  • Support your ability to grow within your facilities role or more to your potential

When the Silicon Valley Chapter began to develop the EFP more than a decade ago, we also saw it as a way to fill the gap by created by retired facilities professionals by retaining new people to the industry as a respected and fulfilling career choice. We also saw it as a way to provide the industry a talent pool for hiring.

IFMA Silicon Valley’s Emerging Facility Professionals program costs $149/year (Full-time students $10).
